Take It Home Events |
| |
Studies have shown that while both the home and the church are important, mom and dad are the most significant spiritual leaders of children…whether they present the full gospel … or nothing at all. What is presented on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings is great….but loses its effectiveness if not talked about or lived out at home. Many of today’s parents feel ill-equipped to be the primary spiritual leaders and trainers in their home.
LOCC loves families and wants to help change that. We want to train and equip families to be strong and successful. That is why we have begun Take It Home Events. Whether you are a parent who has none of the spiritual answers your kids need or are very comfortable talking about all aspects of your faith, these workshops are for you!
Because we know your schedules are already jam-packed, Take It Home workshops are taught during Sunday morning celebrations. All parentsare asked to come to Sunday School on specified dates one time per year with their child for a Take It Home Event. Except for the Nursery/Toddler age group, parent(s) and child come together and learn a new faith skill that they can continue developing in the home.
Take It Home events include a time of teaching, craft or activity, parent/child discussion/interaction time and a take home resource. The take home resource is meant to be a tool that can enable the family to continue what they learned in the home. You will love adding these books/tools/resources to your family spiritual treasure chest! |

If you have older children and would like to attend “younger age” workshops, just let us know you will be coming so we can have enough materials ready. You would attend that workshop without your child.
These workshops will be taught by a variety of other professionals. Hopefully you will leave each workshop with a revitalized faith of your own, a resource that you can use at home and a new or renewed confidence to lead your child into their own faith journey.
We’ll announce the dates through email, our Monthly A2O, the weekly bulletin and verbal announcements so you won’t miss out. |
